Mogami Yoshiaki Mausoleum


Mogami Yoshiaki (1546-1614), the 11th feudal lord of Yamagata, is known as a leader who loved his land and people and brought peace and stability to the region during the tumultuous Sengoku Period, laying the foundation of present-day Yamagata. The ihai mortuary tablets of Mogami Yoshiaki and nine of his retainers repose within this mausoleum.
